Part Three: FAQ’s
Based on Acts 20:17-35

Choosing a church can be challenging, yet eternally important. In Part 1 and Part 2 we covered ten biblical criteria to keep in mind when joining a church. Here we want to address some practical questions you might have. These five appear to be the most commonly asked, and we have answered them to the best of our ability on behalf of New Life Bible Chapel.
1. What Does The Church Believe And Teach?
At New Life Bible Chapel, we are committed to teaching the whole counsel of God (Acts 20:27). We emphasize expository preaching, teaching through the books of the Bible. Both Old and New Testaments are taught in context and in balance.
Our teaching centers on repentance toward God and faith in Jesus Christ. Not on behavior modification, but on Spirit-enabled transformation. You can explore our beliefs and listen to recent sermons at:
2. What Is The Worship Style Like?
Worship at New Life Bible Chapel is participative. We believe the entirety of what we do as a community is an act of worship to the Lord — Communion, fellowship and the preaching of the Word. Every Sunday begins at 9:30 a.m. with a devotion and an open and unscheduled time of praise and singing. This is a time when members call out songs. There is exhortation from the Word and prayer before we partake in the Lord’s Supper (1 Corinthians 14:28; Acts 20:18–19). It is followed by a sermon, usually a sermon series identified as a teaching need.
3. Is There A Strong Sense Of Community And Belonging?
We consider the church to be a family of families—a “household of households” (Ephesians 2:19; 1 Timothy 3:14–15). A place where believers serve one another with humility and love. Our various ministries provide spaces for mutual encouragement, discipleship, and accountability. We also practice shepherding care, where elders walk alongside members through life’s trials (Acts 20:28).
4. What Programs Are Offered For Children, Youth, And Families?
We believe that the home is the first place of discipleship. At New LIfe Bible Chapel we desire to come alongside parents in nurturing their children in God’s Word. Our Sunday School program aims to cultivate biblical knowledge and character in children, while the Adult Bible Class equips parents and individuals to model Christ at home and in the community (Titus 2:3–5; 2 Timothy 3:15).
5. How Is The Church Involved In Community Outreach And Missions?
As a Great Commission-compliant church, we strive to reach the diverse peoples of Mississauga and beyond (Acts 20:25). We partner locally with Federation of Christian Atheletes, Canada, Fellowship of Christian Farmers Canada, Pregnancy Care Centre, Toronto, ShareWord Global, Canada among others in reaching the gospel within the GTA and Canada. Globally, we parner with MSC Canada, and other charitable agencies. This year our Sunday School raised over $4000 for kids who were persecuted and in many cases have lost their parents. Our Ladies raised over $3500 for Project Peel, an initiative to help vulnerable women in Peel. We desire to be faithful witnesses in word and deed (Acts 20:24–26).
